M.A.N.O.A. Student-Athlete Development

The University of Hawai‘i Athletics Department Embraces the concept of “One University” and a culture of collaboration and teamwork across campus and throughout the state. The development of the whole student-athlete (athletically, academically and personally) is crucial to success in college and, more importantly, in life once sport participation is over. We encourage student-athletes to be active members of the community while also assisting them in personal and career development. We strive to help all student-athletes achieve an overall commitment to excellence by fostering individual development and providing an environment of total support in the following areas:

Academic Excellence
Athletic Excellence
Personal Development
Career Development
Community Service

Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
The SAAC is the student government body of the athletics department. Each team has two student-athlete representatives.  Representatives are the voice for the athletics department, conference and NCAA on issues impacting student-athletes.  SAAC builds leadership skills and provides many opportunities for student-athletes to make a difference while at UH.
